Now that you have learned each of the 7 elements of art and HOW they apply to photography, you will go out and practice photographing all 7 elements. The focus of this photoshoot is to learn how to SEE the elements within your view finder. I WOULD SUGGEST USING AN EGG AS YOUR SUBJECT however, if you do not have access you may choose a different subject. If you cannot use an egg, you can choose to photograph a pet, a plant, an egg, a video game controller but your subject must remain the SAME IN ALL 7 IMAGES. In this photoshoot you will be focusing on how to frame your subject with the elements of art in mind.

Project requirements:

1. You will have a TOTAL of 7 images EDITED. you will need to turn in one edited image for EACH Element of Art

   • line, shape, form, space, color, value, texture

2. Your subject MUST BE THE SAME IN EACH PHOTOGRAPH

3. Save all images that you take for this project into a new Google Drive Folder

Mini Project: Paper Manipulations

In class use the two printed images in whatever way you can think of to “liberate” our photographs from the flatness of our medium. In photo 1 we studied how to capture the realism of the world with in our photographs using light and composition. In this project series I am asking you to step outside of your comfort zone to explore the world of dada and surrealism. Read through the series description by Carlo Muttoni

For this mini project feel free to warp, tear, cut, crinkle, fold, etc. to make 2 final EDITED images

Paper Surgery

For your full photoshoot YOU will be selecting the image for your paper surgery series. You will need to email Ms. LaDuca your image BEFORE Thursday, 9/9 at 4pm. In the email please specify if you would like your images in color or black and white. On Friday Ms. LaDuca will provide you with 20 copies for you to manipulate for your photo series.

For the full photo series you will need to turn in 5 edited images.
